How ROASify works, how to set it up, and what its statuses mean.
When a Shopify order is refunded or cancelled, ROASify automatically sends a correction to Google Ads — a full retraction for a complete refund, or a corrected value for a partial refund — so the refunded sale stops being counted as a real conversion.
It's a focused add-on, not a replacement for your existing Purchase tracking. It never sends new conversions to Google Ads — only corrections to conversions your existing setup (Shopify's native Google & YouTube channel, GA4, Elevar, or another app) already tracked. Google Ads only — Meta's Conversions API has no equivalent adjustment mechanism.
Use Validate connection on the Overview tab any time to confirm the connection is working — it sends a real, harmless request to Google Ads using a made-up order id, so it never touches real conversion data.
Every refund or cancellation is evaluated against the order's current state in Shopify, not tracked as a running total locally:
Google matches an adjustment to the original conversion using an order identifier. ROASify tries your order's numeric Shopify ID first, then automatically retries with the plain order number (e.g. 1001) if the first doesn't match — covering the two common ways Purchase-tracking setups key their conversions, without needing you to configure anything.
You may see this on the Events tab, shown as sent with an info icon. It means the request reached Google Ads and was processed correctly — Google is telling ROASify there was never a Purchase conversion recorded for that order under either identifier it tried. There's nothing broken, and nothing further for ROASify to do for that order.
This is expected, not an error, and it happens for a few ordinary reasons:
Make sure you clicked Save after using Discover — the account and conversion action fields are only written to your settings once saved, not immediately when Discover finds them.
Check the Detail column on the Events tab for the specific message. Transient failures (timeouts, rate limits) retry automatically up to 3 times before landing in a dead-letter list you can review and replay from the dashboard. Errors that say your Google Ads credentials were rejected mean the connection needs to be re-established from Settings.
Use the Refresh button on the Events tab, or reload the app from your Shopify admin.
